Tips for taking care of very dry hair?
admin | Aug 29, 2010 | Comments 7
My hair is curly, blonde, and VERY dry. So how should I take care of it? How about product suggestions? Right now I rinse my hair out every night, wash it with shampoo and conditioner twice a week, and every morning I put curls rock by TIGI in my hair. I also hear mayo is good for hair?

Leave in conditioners
you could try Head&Shoulders shampoo. I have really dry hair and it helps.
DONT use mayo. i tried it and my hair felt really greasy and gross
try aussie 3 minute miracle. i love it! and it smells amazing
if you have enough money, try rezz-a-rect (google it)
Try putting olive oil in your hair and when you rinse out your conditioner, use cold water.
Believe it or not if you use mayo it will help with dryness…though i wouldn’t leave it in longer then ten minutes. It is also a wise i dea to wash your hair right after, or you will smell like old tuna salad….
idk y ur rinsing your hair. but w/e umm you should use a shampoo and conditioner for dry hair and use a deep conditioner at least once a week. Also use a leave in conditioner and continue using curls rock b/c it will help ur curls.
I’m female and I have very dry and frizzy hair. I have tried so many products to moisturize my hair, tame the frizziness, etc., but none of them have worked on my hair. A friend of mine got this make-at-home recipe from her hair dresser and it is great – the best and most effective hair conditioner I have ever used!
It’s called, “Rosemary Honey Olive Oil Hair Conditioner”. The honey in this conditioner will add shine while the olive oil is great for extra moisture. The treatment is enhanced with rosemary essential oil to stimulate hair growth – you can leave this ingredient out, but I prefer to leave it in because it stimulates healthy hair growth. Here’s the recipe:
• 1/2 cup honey
• 1/4 cup warmed olive oil (2 tablespoons for normal to oily hair)
• 4 drops rosemary essential oil
• 1 tsp of xanthan gum (available at health food stores)
Place all the ingredients in a small bowl and mix thoroughly. Pour into a clean plastic bottle with a snug-fitting cap. To use, apply a small amount to your slightly dampened hair. Massage your scalp and work the conditioner through your hair until it is completely and evenly distributed. Next, cover your hair with a warm towel (your microwave or dryer can heat it up) or shower cap. Leave the conditioner on for 30 minutes. Shampoo lightly and rinse with cool water. Dry as you would normally.
I can’t say enough good things about this stuff – I just love it. It’s the only thing that has ever worked on my hair and it makes it so shiny, soft and manageable – and no more dry, frizzy hair!!!
I usually condition my hair once a week with this recipe and I can’t remember how long I’ve been using it. The first time you use it, you will notice a difference, and the second time will be even better. After you have used it on a regular basis, you will not believe the difference in your hair. Give it a try, I’m sure you will love the result.
Edit: I do have another suggestion. You mentioned in your post that you rinse your hair out every night. That’s not a good idea because you are removing the natural hair oils from your scalp and hair follicles that your hair needs to be healthy and this will only add to the dryness of your hair. Instead you should give your hair a good brushing every night before you go to bed. That will stimulate your scalp and distribute your natural hair oil throughout your hair – that is why brushing is so good for your hair.
